Sabi Star…

Sabi Star…

Sabi StarSitting waiting at Rupisi Springs while the guys tried to find a borehole site that didn’t have boiling hot water in it, I saw a flash of bright red…Sabi Star

I got out the car to investigate and found this magic flower…Sabi Star

This is what the plant looks like! I’m told some of these plants grow over head height – this one is about knee height…

Yes I think so – it has a different name in South Africa. Ive just looked it up and it seems to have several relatives too – slightly different shape leaves etc and diff coloured flowers…http://www.plantzafrica.com/plantab/adenium.htm

They are so pretty. Always amuses me that we have always known them as Sabi Star but now they are called Impala Lilly 🙂

I still call them Sabi Star. My mum had one – we had to plant it in sand and stone chip cos it rains too much in Esigodini
