The trees in the Eastern Highlands were awesome, I wore my shutter button out shooting them!
This one, on the side of the road from Rusape to Juliasdale, caught my attention the moment I saw it.
Above is a bunch of them just before Froggy Farm (were we stayed.)
I learned that the name of this tree is Mkuti, in Shona, from the lady doing her washing below it. With its roots in water, its not really surprising its grown this big.
This one (above) is in Makoni East near a place called Nyatande.
After driving the road for several days, I eventually couldn’t resist stopping to take this tree portrait! It was a cold, windy and slight wet day. Perfect for this tree!
Faery tree!
Some trees just catch my eye – even in the distance, they stick up, usually hanging onto a rock-face.
This one above at full zoom – I think its probably more than one tree!
This one gets to look over Mozambique all its life.
Looks like it’s having a bad hair day.
Taken above Mutore School in Vumba.
At Leopard Rock – somewhere on the golf course!
A baby baobab – does that mean Buhera is drying up like Mat’land? (looking towards the Eastern Highlands.)
Heading down to the Burma Valley, the trees almost covered the road – towering above these youngsters…
The beauty of this country is boundless.
TREES
BY JOYCE KILMER
I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
True that!
Oh my…I liked this one best, then that one, then…The whole lot are a wonderful collection. GREAT share xx
I will probably have enough pics to make several more posts! I take lots of pics of trees
